Halloween and Fall Party Drinks
A while a go I held party and I came up with a pretty decent drink menu that I actually experimented with prior to the party. The drinks were a hit, though a few were absolute favorites. I'm going to share those drink recipes so others can enjoy them too. Especially the Butterbeer recipe.
For reference in measurements:
- 1 shot = 1 oz
- 2 shots = 2 oz
- Half shot = 0.5 oz
Some cocktail jiggers are different sizes. Simply just adjust the proportions to what you want. I use a Japanese Jigger that is 2oz top and 1oz bottom
🍺 Butterbeer
Universal Studios of Orlando has the Harry Potter world area and they serve "Butterbeer" there, based on the Harry Potter drink in the books and movies. But anyone who has ever tried their Butterbeer knows that it tastes odd and nothing like you'd expect the Butterbeer name and visuals in the movie to taste like. So I experimented a lot to get this recipe right and with the help of a friend who suggested a major tweak to perfect it, I believe this drink is the closest thing you'll get to real Butterbeer.
What you'll need:
- Drink shaker
- Butterscotch Schnapps (liqueur - I used Mr Stack's Butterscotch Schnapps)
- Peanut Butter Whiskey (Specifically Sheep Dog as the flavor is best for this)
- Hazelnut Liqueur
- Egg whites
- Root beer (diet root beer also works)
- Ice
Recipe
Into your shaker:
- 4 shots of Butterscotch Schnapps
- 2 shots of Peanut Butter Whiskey
- 1 shot of Hazelnut liqueur
- Half shot of egg whites
Shake it well for 15 seconds
Add ice into the shaker and shake for 5 seconds
Pour out into the cup to halfway point (preferably a clear glass mug).
Fill the rest of the cup/mug with cold root beer.
Stir it a little bit.
👻 The Ghostbuster
This is a more refreshing drink that comes out to a turquoise blue and looks great with a (yellow) glow stick added in.
What you'll need:
- Drink shaker
- Vodka
- Sour Apple Schnapps/Liqueur
- Blue Curaçao
- Apple Juice
- Ice
- Glow stick (optional)
Recipe
Into your shaker:
- 2 shots of Vodka
- 2 shots of Sour Apple Schnapps
- 1 shot of Blue Curaçao
- Ice
Shake it well for 5 seconds
Pour out into the cup to halfway point (preferably a tall clear cup).
Fill the rest of the cup with cold apple juice.
Stir it a little bit.
Add an optional glow stick.
🧹 Witch's Brew
This is a more refreshing fizzy drink that comes out to a purple hue and looks great with dry ice added in to give it a cool look.
What you'll need:
- Drink shaker
- Vodka
- Watermelon Schnapps/Liqueur
- Blue Curaçao
- Orange Juice
- Club Soda
- Ice
- Dry Ice (optional)
Recipe
Into your shaker:
- 2 shots of Vodka
- 2 shots of Watermelon Schnapps
- Half shot of Blue Curaçao
- Ice
Shake it well for 5 seconds
Pour out into the cup to halfway point (preferably a tall clear cup).
Put a shot of Orange Juice into the glass.
Fill the rest of the cup with cold Club Soda.
Stir it a little bit.
Add an optional Dry Ice cube into the glass.
🧛 Vampire's Kiss
This is a more classy and simple drink using Sparking wine or brut.
What you'll need:
- Drink shaker
- Vodka
- Sparking wine or brut or Champagne
- Raspberry Schnapps/liqueur
- Ice
Recipe
Into your shaker:
- 2 shots of Vodka
- 2 shots of Raspberry Schnapps
- Ice
Shake it well for 5 seconds
Pour out into the cup to halfway point (preferably a tall clear cup).
Fill the rest of the cup with cold Sparking wine/brut/champagne.
Stir it a little bit.
🍎 The Poisoned Apple
An Apple and cinnamon flavored drink inspired by Snow White's Apple.
What you'll need:
- Drink shaker
- Tequila (gold/reposado)
- Cinnamon Whiskey
- Apple Cider
- Ice
Recipe
Into your shaker:
- 2 shots of Tequila
- 2 shots of Cinnamon Whiskey
- Ice
Shake it well for 5 seconds
Pour out into the cup to halfway point (preferably a tall clear cup).
Fill the rest of the cup with cold Apple Cider.
Stir it a little bit.
⚰️ Plague
A harder drink with a lot of different flavors mixed with coke or a similar soda.
What you'll need:
- Drink shaker
- Vodka
- Jägermeister
- Melon Schnapps/liqueur (NOT Watermelon Schnapps)
- Raspberry Schnapps/liqueur
- Coke (or Dr. Pepper)
- Ice
Recipe
Into your shaker:
- 2 shots of Vodka
- 2 shots of Jägermeister
- 1 shot of Melon Schnapps
- 1 shot of Raspberry Schnapps
- Ice
Shake it well for 5 seconds
Pour out into the cup to halfway point (preferably a tall clear cup).
Fill the rest of the cup with cold Coke or similar soda.
Stir it a little bit.
☠️ Graveyard Shift
A simple hard drink with a lot of different flavors.
What you'll need:
- Drink shaker
- Jägermeister
- Tequila (Gold/reposado preferred, silver/blanco is fine)
- Cranberry Juice
- Ice
Recipe
Into your shaker:
- 4 shots of Jägermeister
- 2 shots of Tequila
- Ice
Shake it well for 5 seconds
Pour out into the cup to halfway point (preferably a tall clear cup).
Fill the rest of the cup with cold Cranberry Juice.
Stir it a little bit.
🧟 Ectoplasm
A simple drink that comes out looking neon green if mixed right.
What you'll need:
- Drink shaker
- Tequila (Gold/reposado)
- Sour Apple Liqueur
- Orange Juice
- Ice
Recipe
Into your shaker:
- 4 shots of Tequila
- 4 shots of Sour Apple Liqueur
- Ice
Shake it well for 5 seconds
Pour out into the cup around halfway point or more (preferably a tall clear cup).
Fill the rest of the cup with cold Orange Juice until the look is neon green.
Stir it a little bit.
